The Russian government has promised billions of dollars in subsidies to sea freight carriers in Crimea

The volume of subsidies for sea freight transportation to Crimea in 2024 may amount to 6 billion rubles. About it reported First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation Andrei Kostyuk at a meeting of the Committee on Transport and Transport Infrastructure Development in the State Duma.
The Ministry of Finance has additionally reserved funds to subsidize sea freight transportation to Kaliningrad and, accordingly, to Crimea. 2 billion rubles have so far been reserved for Kaliningrad, 6 billion rubles for Crimea— he said.
In September 2022, the Government of the Russian Federation allocated 1.377 billion rubles from the reserve fund to Rosmorrechflot to subsidize sea freight transportation to the Kaliningrad region until the end of the year. We are talking, among other things, about oil, petroleum products, coal, cement, peat, building bricks, as well as cars and furniture. Probably, the same scheme will be tested for Crimea.
