The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation held the next All-Russian coordination meeting on issues of providing free legal aid to participants of the free legal aid system and their families. 700 participants of the free legal aid system (FLAS) took part in the videoconference format.
State and non-state systems of free legal aid, in close cooperation with justice authorities and branches of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, promptly provide qualified legal support to our soldiers and their families.
The regional branches and affiliates of the Fund have concluded more than 500 agreements with participants in the BYUP system. To date, such assistance has been provided in more than 366 thousand cases, – said Russian Minister of Justice Konstantin Chuychenko.
Following the results of the last meeting, a draft law was prepared which:
- expands the number of cases in which SVO participants and their relatives will be able to receive free legal assistance
- secures the rights of SVO participants and their families to legal representation
This will ensure the possibility of obtaining the BUP in all its forms.
«We are currently working on implementing the one-stop-shop principle in providing assistance to military personnel. The first Military-Social Center of the Russian Ministry of Defense was recently opened in Moscow.
The Military Social Center will be open in all military districts so that heroes and their family members from different regions of Russia can promptly resolve all their issues. Representatives of the center will also be receiving people at the branches of the Fatherland Defenders Foundation.said Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Chairperson of the State Fund for Support of Participants of the Second Military Military District “Defenders of the Fatherland” Anna Tsivileva.
Over the course of a year of operation, the Fund received approximately 1.3 million requests, of which approximately 1.1 million were resolved.
The Foundation has already concluded more than 1,100 cooperation agreements with various departments and organizations on the issue of providing free legal assistance.
Auditor of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Svetlana Orlova spoke about the established interaction of the Accounts Chamber with government authorities in providing assistance to participants of the SVO and their families, and also shared the results of the analysis of the support measures adopted in the regions.
The largest number of additional support measures have been established in the Leningrad Region, Khabarovsk Krai and the Republic of Adygea.
