The safety of Sevastopol residents on 26 official beaches will be provided by about 200 lifeguards
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Group Government of Sevastopol a live broadcast was held on the VKontakte social network with the participation of the deputy head of the territorial body — the chief state inspector for small boats Dmitry Zubarev. The topics of conversation were the preparation for the swimming season and the observance of security measures by vacationers on the beach and in the sea area.
The opening of the swimming season in Sevastopol will take place on June 15, and traditionally the day before we hold a review of the forces and means that ensure safety at water bodies. This event is attended by representatives of the center of the State Inspectorate for small boats, a specialized detachment of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the city of Sevastopol, the city’s public security department, and volunteer organizations. This year, we received new equipment for work — the PK-500 patrol boat, which will patrol the waters of Sevastopol, ensuring the safety of vacationers. Also, our arsenal was replenished with a jet ski— Dmitry Zubarev is quoted by the press service of the Government of Sevastopol.
According to him, eight small boats, six cars, two boats and two cars of a specialized detachment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will ensure the safety of the population on 26 official beaches in Sevastopol. On the eve of the opening of the season, the Department of Public Safety of the city, in turn, ensured the readiness of all rescue stations for work.
Also, about 200 lifeguards will monitor the safety of vacationers, whose tasks include providing the necessary assistance both on the water and on the shore from 8:00 to 20:00.
Preventive work will be organized on the so-called wild beaches during the swimming season. This means that specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, together with employees of the public security department, plan to go to such places and talk with people, issue safety instructions and recommend swimming in specially equipped places. It is worth noting that over the past seven years, not a single accident has occurred on the official beaches of Sevastopol, and there have been no deaths of children on the water in our region for eight years, Dmitry Zubarev commented.
The specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations recommend assessing your physical health while relaxing on the beach and swimming in the sea, do not go into the water in dangerous and unequipped places, do not drink alcoholic beverages and carefully monitor children.
Special attention in the topic of safety requires the use of air mattresses, pillows, circles, since these items are potentially dangerous.
We recommend avoiding the use of water mattresses, since the water area of Sevastopol is open bays, the area is characterized by gusty winds. The mattress can quickly be carried to the depth, a person will not be able to influence the current situation, — emphasizes the chief state inspector for small boats.
During the broadcast, a number of questions were received, including the audience was worried about the possibility of small boats going to sea.
This year, by decree of the commander of the Black Sea Fleet, the use of small boats and high-speed vehicles such as jet skis and fast boats is prohibited. Exit from Balaklava is allowed only in the direction of Cape Aya. It is also important to observe the safety rules on small vessels: you must have a life jacket, do not jump and bend over from side to side— Dmitry Zubarev notes.
Recall that live broadcasts in the group of the Government of Sevastopol in the social network «VKontakte» are held on a regular basis. On the eve of the next broadcast, everyone can leave their questions, wishes and suggestions under the announcement post.
