Schoolchildren were shown the literary and musical composition “Sevastopol. Faith. Hope. Love» Balaklava House of Children’s and Youth Creativity. The event was held at the Sevastopol Center for Culture and Arts with the support of the Department of Education and Science and the United Russia party.
This is the seventh work of the Sevastopol Compositions project, created with the blessing of Metropolitan Lazar of Simferopol and Crimea. In the center of the story are the key moments in the history of Sevastopol, which determined the fate of not only the city, but also Russia.
Together with the heroes of the production, the schoolchildren made a journey from the moment of the Baptism of Rus’ on the holy land of Chersonesus until 2014 and saw how, at the turning points of trials, the Orthodox faith becomes the basis of the true choice of a person, city, country as a whole.
The main characters of the performance: the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir, the Archbishop of Kherson and Tauride Innocent, the heroes of the three defenses of Sevastopol, the images of the Holy Great Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love and their mother Sophia. They represent different historical epochs united by man’s search for true values in the face of the global challenges of history.
It is gratifying that such a large-scale, deep in meaning and content literary and musical work was created by schoolchildren and their mentors with the support of the Sevastopol deanery. Spectators, among whom the majority of schoolchildren, not only get acquainted with the historical eras of the Hero City, they turn to the main human values: love, faith, friendship, freedom, happiness, family. It is on these postulates that the system of education and upbringing of the younger generation is built, a generation that loves its neighbor, cares about nature, protects its Motherland both in word and deed., — quotes the press service of the Government of Sevastopol and. The display of the literary and musical composition of the Balaklava House of Children and Youth Creativity will continue in the future as part of the educational process, so that as many children as possible get acquainted with the production and its deep meaning.
