The season begins: motorcycles are stolen in Yalta

The duty station of police department No. 1 “Alupkinsky” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta received a statement from a resident of the village. Gaspra regarding the theft of an expensive Yamaha motorcycle. During a conversation with the victim, the police found out that at night an unidentified person entered the garage by breaking the padlock. After which, a motorcycle located there, which was not protected by anti-theft devices, was stolen from the premises. The amount of damage amounted to 700,000 rubles.

During operational search activities, criminal investigation officers identified and detained those involved in the theft. They turned out to be 33-year-old and 39-year-old local residents who knew the victim. It was established that two men, knowing about the absence of the owner of the garage, making sure that no one was watching their actions, broke the lock, entered the premises and rolled out a motorcycle, intending to use someone else’s property for personal purposes. Then they left the stolen goods near the crime scene,” noted the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.

The suspects confessed. The motor vehicle was found by police officers and returned to the owner.

The investigator of the police department No. 1 “Alupkinsky” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Theft). For committing a crime, defendants may face punishment ranging from a fine to 6 years in prison.

The suspects were given preventive measures in the form of recognizance not to leave.
