The second regional tennis tournament «Cup of the Governor of the city of Sevastopol» has started

The opening ceremony of the sporting event was held on the tennis courts of the sports and recreation complex named after the 200th anniversary of Sevastopol. The tournament is held for the second time on the initiative of the Sevastopol Tennis Federation and the Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Tatyana Lobach, under the patronage of the Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev.

Congratulations on the opening of our second regional tennis tournament «Sevastopol Governor’s Cup». You know, when Tatyana Georgievna Lobach and I agreed last year that there would be such a tournament in the city, we agreed that it would be primarily for our younger generation, our future champions, and that it would be traditional. Because when a tournament is traditional, they are waiting for it, preparing for it, and it is gaining momentum. If last year there were about 80 participants, then this year there are already twice as many of you, which means that the interest in tennis in Sevastopol is huge, and we see this not only by the tournament, but also by the demand for the courts that we build— quotes the press service of Mikhail Razvozhaev.

The governor emphasized that in Sevastopol there is an opportunity to study for free within the budget groups at sports schools, at the City Center for Social and Sports Programs and within the framework of the Sports in Every Yard project.

The main task of the tournament is to continue to support the most talented. I believe that tennis is one of the basic sports for Sevastopol and we will do everything for this. This year we will try to surprise you with new traditions, new prizes and new perspectives.— said the mayor.

State Duma deputy Tatyana Lobach noted in her welcoming speech that every year interest in tennis is growing in Sevastopol. Sports infrastructure for the sport of «tennis» includes 50 outdoor tennis courts (9 courts are in the administration of the Office).

I am glad that we have a national team, it trains here, on these courts, at the SOK of the 200th anniversary of Sevastopol. We are doing everything with the Tennis Federation, with Mikhail Vladimirovich, so that our sports base in Sevastopol grows. On the eve of this tournament, Mikhail Vladimirovich decided to repair the courts in Komsomolsky Park, among us tennis players there are investors who are willing, we will succeed and we will have “Sport in every yard”. We will have sports grounds in every yard, our children will play tennis and play sports— says State Duma deputy Tatyana Lobach.

More than 160 participants this year will take part in age categories: girls and boys under 10 years old, boys and girls under 13 years old, under 15 years old, under 17 years old and adult lovers of men and women. Winners will be determined in all categories: 1,2,3 places.
