The Sevastopol Architectural Council sent the Lazarev Square overhaul project for revision

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Today, at a meeting of the Architectural and Artistic Council chaired by Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev, they considered a project for the overhaul of Lazarev Square at the intersection of Yakutskaya and Lazarevskaya streets in the Nakhimovsky district. A representative of the development company «Aves-Stroy» Roman Kozlov made a presentation. He voiced proposals for arranging an interactive map of the expedition of Admiral Mikhail Petrovich Lazarev and an interactive historical panel in the park, as well as for placing a children’s playground and installing small architectural forms.

An area for active pastime is necessary, since there are apartment buildings around, and we need to create conditions for residents of the area and their children. As for the historical interactive panel, considering that we live in the 21st century, it is worth installing. Children and youth are interested in gadgets, and it can attract more young people to the history of the city and to the personality of Mikhail Petrovich Lazarev– quotes the press service of the Government of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev.

At the same time, members of the architectural and artistic council made many comments, noting that when developing the project, the historical significance of the reconstruction site was not taken into account. The project was sent for revision due to the need to conduct additional historical research of the territory.

This is a historical place. We must take care of the history of the city and are obliged to reflect the legacy of the heroic defense of Sevastopol. It will be necessary to conduct an additional check on the issue of reburial, as well as place more emphasis on the role of Mikhail Petrovich Lazarev in the history of the citysays the governor.

Council members drew attention to the fact that residents of the Nakhimovsky district are very much looking forward to the implementation of this project, so the completion should not be delayed. The developer was recommended to take into account all comments regarding the historical value of the site and the layout of the park.
