“The Sevastopol – Crimean – Russian Spring is 10 years old! Time for conclusions, reflections and proposals for the future» — this is the topic of the round table meeting, which will take place on March 14 from 13:00 to 16:00 at the Sevastopol Maritime Library named after. M.P. Lazarev (Sevastopol, Nakhimov Ave., 7).
The organizers are the Institute of CIS Countries in Sevastopol, the Military Scientific Society of the Black Sea Fleet, the Sevastopol Maritime Library named after. M.P. Lazarev and the Sevastopol regional branch of the Union of Journalists of Russia.
The round table meeting is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the events of the Russian Spring — the return of Sevastopol and Crimea to their native harbor — to Russia, the events that subsequently followed not only in Russia, but also in the world.
As the executive director of the Institute of CIS Countries in Sevastopol, chairman of the Union of Journalists of Sevastopol Sergei Gorbachev noted, the organizers invite representatives of science and the public of the Hero City and the Republic of Crimea, their partners, to participate. These are the Sevastopol Naval Assembly, the Regional Branch of the Russian Military Historical Society in Sevastopol, the Sevastopol Scientific and Branch Naval Branch of the Academy of Military Sciences of Russia, Council of Veterans of the Black Sea Squadron and formations of surface ships of the Black Sea Fleet, Sevastopol Deanery, Club of Fleet and City History Lovers, representatives of archives, museums, libraries, other structures, public organizations, Black Sea residents.
A number of issues are scheduled to be discussed at the round table meeting:
– Fleet division, the struggle to preserve the Black Sea Fleet for Russia – the creation and retention of a “bridgehead” of the Russian Spring;
– Activities of pro-Russian organizations in Crimea and Sevastopol, the struggle for the reunification of the peninsula with Russia, problems of the status of Crimea and the Hero City, preservation of Russian identity;
– Maidan-1, Maidan-2. Prerequisites and possibilities for returning to one’s native harbor;
– Sevastopol-Crimean-Russian spring: chronicle, events, facts of recent history;
– Integration of Crimea and Sevastopol into the format and standards of the modern Russian Federation: experience, problems, prospects;
– Participation of the Black Sea Fleet, Sevastopol and Crimea in the Special Military Operation. Interaction with new territories.
