The Sevastopol Employment Service launched the “Professions Day” project for schoolchildren

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On the eve of Teacher’s Day, specialists from the Sevastopol personnel center presented a new project, “Professions Day,” which will help younger schoolchildren get acquainted with professions in a fun and interactive way. The first stage of the project took place at school No. 37 for students in grade 2-A. The project was developed by specialists from the HR center “Work of Russia” together with primary school teacher Svetlana Tereshchenko and today for the first time it was presented in practice in the form of a team game. Schoolchildren guessed professions based on their tools hidden in bags. After guessing, a representative of the profession in uniform told the children about his work in the first person.

“Professions Day” is aimed not only at introducing younger schoolchildren to the work of their parents, but also at explaining what the employment service does. We want children to understand from an early age that the “Russia Work” personnel center helps people not only in finding a job, but also on other important issues. Anyone can contact us for support and advice– the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the director of the personnel center of Sevastopol Svetlana Rendak.

A special moment for the children was that their parents turned out to be professionals — a fireman, a builder and an employment service specialist. In addition, students were able to ask their parents questions about work and learn about what skills and qualities are necessary for a successful career.

We developed this project together with the personnel center specifically for primary school students. Our goal is to introduce children to various professions through the experience of their parents. We want kids to be able to ask questions directly to experts and better understand what people do in different fields, – says Svetlana Tereshchenko.

Employment service specialists also gave the children branded “Work in Russia” coloring books and sweets. The “Professions Day” project is planned to be made traditional, expanding its format and scope so that as many children as possible can immerse themselves in the fascinating world of professions.

It should be noted that since the beginning of the year, the employment service has provided 4.2 thousand career guidance services to Sevastopol residents, of which about 2 thousand to teenagers. In addition, career consultants conduct career tests, tests and excursions to enterprises for schoolchildren, which helps them consciously approach the choice of profession.
