The Sevastopol “My Business” center summed up the results of the regional stage of the “Mom Entrepreneur” program

In Sevastopol, the results of the regional stage of the “Mom Entrepreneur” program were summed up. It was held for the first time in Hero City — 40 women with children who were planning to start their own business or had opened one less than a year ago submitted applications for participation. Over the course of five days, the participants underwent comprehensive training in a full-time format at the My Business center. The best business project was selected by members of an expert jury, which included representatives of the economic development department, the My Business center, successful entrepreneurs of Sevastopol, as well as the management of the local branch of the Southern Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia.

The project is being implemented within the framework of the national project “Small and Medium Enterprises” in 63 regions of Russia. Its main goal is to help women with children start their own business. At the “My Business” center, participants acquired comprehensive knowledge on entrepreneurial competencies from various specialists. One of the participants’ projects, recognized as the best according to experts, received 100 thousand rubles today for implementation. Let me remind you that this year about 9 thousand women entrepreneurs were registered in Sevastopol, who combine running their own business with caring for their family. “Mom Entrepreneur” is an educational project in the field of supporting women with a business idea or working project and having children. His idea was founded in 2013; over 10 years, about 7,000 women across the country took part in it, 247 of them became winners of the competition.

As part of the program, 255 trainings were conducted, including on social entrepreneurship.

The competition participants presented projects in financial literacy, landscape design, marketing and many other areas. In a short time, each of them, thanks to the certified trainers of the SME Corporation at the My Business center, was able to obtain the necessary knowledge to start their own business. The winner of the competition received not only 100 thousand rubles, but also the opportunity to compete at the federal level for a grant in the amount of 1 million rubles,” said Natalia Borisova, director of the Sevastopol “My Business” center.

The winner of the regional stage winner certificate was Yulia Pankova, who presented a project to create wooden lamps.

Last year, my husband and I opened a carpentry workshop, producing souvenirs and animal cages. We planned to expand — to manufacture lamps from eco-friendly material — wood. Winning the “Mom Entrepreneur” program gives us this opportunity — we will purchase the necessary equipment for further production,” notes the winner of the competition, Yulia Pankova.

Two more participants in the regional stage of the Mom Entrepreneur competition received bonuses for promotion in VK Advertising in the amount of 10 thousand rubles. Also, during the program, each participant had the opportunity to gain publicity and storytelling skills and publish posts on their social networks.

The program is being implemented within the framework of the national project “Small and Medium Enterprises”. The organizer is the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, the co-organizers are the SME Corporation and the Women’s Union of Russia.
