The Sevastopol police remind you of responsibility for illegal activities aimed at discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Sevastopol police periodically identify offenses related to publicly discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in a special military operation in Ukraine. These illegal acts are most often expressed in posting materials discrediting the Russian army on social networks and shouting extremist slogans in public places.
It should be noted that these actions not only contradict the current legislation, but also encroach on the foundations of public morality. Thus, activities to protect the Fatherland are often carried out in high-risk conditions, threatening life and health. For its effectiveness, the moral and psychological attitude of military personnel who directly solve combat missions and thereby fulfill their military duty is of great importance. One of its most important conditions is public support and universal respect for the work of defenders of the Motherland.
At the same time, for public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to protect the interests of our state and its citizens, maintaining international peace and security, administrative liability arises under Article 20.3.3 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses (CAO RF). This article also provides for punishment for persons who publicly discredit the exercise by state bodies of the Russian Federation of their powers outside the territory of our country for the specified purposes, as well as for publicly discrediting the provision of assistance by volunteer formations, organizations or individuals in the performance of tasks assigned to the Russian army. The sanction of the article establishes a fine for citizens in the amount of thirty thousand to fifty thousand rubles; for officials — from one hundred thousand to two hundred thousand rubles; for legal entities — from three hundred thousand to five hundred thousand rubles. For committing the above-described actions in the presence of certain aggravating circumstances (for example, in the case of calls for holding unauthorized public events, creating threats of harm to the life or health of citizens, or a threat of mass disruption of public order), violators will face even more severe administrative punishment in accordance with Part 2 of Article 20.3.3 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, namely: the imposition of a fine on citizens in the amount of fifty thousand to one hundred thousand rubles; for officials — from two hundred thousand to three hundred thousand rubles; for legal entities — from five hundred thousand to one million rubles. If these unlawful actions are committed by a citizen after he has been brought to administrative responsibility for a similar act within one year, then criminal prosecution is already provided for this under Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Publicity as an element of the objective side of the offense can be expressed in the posting of defamatory texts on the Internet, shouting anti-state slogans in crowded places.
Citizens who discover materials of the specified illegal content in the public domain should inform the nearest territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. If you notice people shouting extremist slogans, then it is necessary, without attracting their attention, to remember the offenders (height, facial features, hair color, presence of scars, tattoos, what they were wearing, what they called each other), as well as the direction in which they disappeared, if possible, discreetly record their unlawful acts on a mobile phone (for subsequent transfer of the video recording to law enforcement officers), and immediately report what is happening by calling 102. At police duty stations, reports of offenses are received around the clock.
