The Sevastopol prosecutor’s office checks compliance with children’s rights when organizing meals in schools and preschool educational institutions. The inspection is carried out in accordance with the instructions of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation. Supervisory activities cover secondary schools, gymnasiums, lyceums and kindergartens in the city. Specialists from the territorial bodies of Rospotrebnadzor, Rosselkhoznadzor and FAS were involved in the inspection. If necessary, interaction with representatives of parent committees will be ensured.
There are 63 secondary educational institutions and 78 preschool educational institutions in the city. According to information from the Department of Education and Science of the city of Sevastopol, in the 2024/2025 academic year, contracts were concluded with 13 business entities — legal entities and individual entrepreneurs — to provide meals. During the inspection, prosecutors pay attention to the legality of concluding and executing contracts for the provision of children’s nutrition services between educational institutions and commercial organizations, the quality of such services, and the balance of the diet. The completeness of measures to control incoming and finished products, the conditions of their storage, the quality and safety of raw materials, compliance with sanitary standards by employees of canteens and catering departments and other aspects are assessed.,” the department’s press service reported.
Based on the results of the inspection, if there are grounds, prosecutorial response measures will be taken.
