From July 1 to July 2, for the first time in the Zaporozhye region, a grandiose sports festival took place — the Open Cup of the city of Melitopol in hockey among amateur teams. The guest of honor of the tournament, the head of the department for youth and sports of Sevastopol, Sergei Reznichenko, addressed everyone who gathered at the Ice Arena with a welcoming speech.
Together with Alexei Plotnikov, Acting Director of the City Finance Department, and our Sevastopol hockey team, we are in the sponsored region — the city of Melitopol — at the Open Ice Hockey Cup competition among amateur teams. We have repeatedly hosted teams from Melitopol in various sports in our Hero City of Sevastopol. This time they came with a return visit to our brothers. Teams from Sevastopol, Arkhangelsk and Penza regions came to fight on the ice with the Avangard and Bulldog teams from the Zaporozhye region. The Cup of the city of Melitopol rightfully went to the team of the Penza region, the second place was taken by the team of the Arkhangelsk region, the third — the team of the hockey club «Sevastopol».
