The silver gazebo in the mountains of the South Coast was overhauled
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The attraction of the Yalta mountain and forest reserve — the Silver gazebo, built in the fifties of the last century on Mount Pendikul, was overhauled. All work was carried out by employees of the «Reserved Crimea». According to Tourist portal of Crimeathe rotunda was actually restored and even improved its design.
The famous Silver Pavilion stands in the mountains of the South Coast, near the road Yalta — Ai-Petri — Bakhchisaray. Even at the end of the 19th century, travelers and even the tsar himself and his family stopped here, on the slope of Mount Pendikul, to admire the landscapes of the southern coast of Crimea. True, there was no gazebo then. The majestic rotunda was built after the Great Patriotic War. The snow-white construction on fine days can be seen even from Yalta. The Silver Arbor got its name either because of the brilliance of hoarfrost in winter, or because of the silver, which was once painted, local historians say.
This year, the employees of the «Reserved Crimea» planned to make a cosmetic repair of the object: whitewash, paint, and at the same time update the stucco molding.
When they began to remove the plaster, it turned out that, in principle, the condition there was worse: water, as it turned out, penetrated into the supporting structures, and frost weathering severely destroyed the columns from the inside. I had to do major work: a special crate, strengthen all structures— said the head of the department of educational tourism of the Federal State Budgetary Institution «Reserved Crimea» Sergey Klushin.
The arbor was not only repaired, but also facilitated its design: the solid lower part was replaced with a classic balustrade. In addition, the staff partially moved and strengthened the retaining walls on the observation deck.
Now visitors to the Yalta Mountain Forest Reserve can comfortably admire the beautiful view of the Yalta mountain amphitheater, Nikitskaya Yayla, Mount Ayu-Dag, Cape Martyan and the Black Sea coast, taking unforgettable photos.
The updated environmental and educational facility is located on the protected route «To the teeth of Ai-Petri».
To visit, you need to issue a pass, by the way, it gives you the right to see other routes with sights in the reserve. You can get permission only online and only on the website of the Federal State Budgetary Institution «Reserved Crimea». Residents of the peninsula have access to a free pass for 1 year, for tourists without a Crimean residence permit it will cost 200 rubles.
Coordinates of the beginning of the route to the Silver Pavilion: 44.47070, 34.08174. Coordinates of the Silver Arbor: 44.47012, 34.08316.
