The Simferopol Art Museum presents the exhibition «The Age of Leo Tolstoy»

In the Simferopol Art Museum, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea, the grand opening of the exhibition «The Age of Leo Tolstoy» took place.
The new exhibition project is dedicated to the 195th anniversary of the Russian writer Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910). The exposition presents over 50 works from the museum’s stock collection: illustrations for the writer’s works, paintings and graphic works of his contemporaries — artists Ivan Kramskoy, Nikolai Ge, Viktor Vasnetsov, Vasily Polenov, Mikhail Nesterov, Mikhail Vrubel and other authors.
The exposition is devoted to several topics “L.N. Tolstoy: life and work», «The image of a person in the art of the Wanderers», «The landscape genre in the work of the Wanderers».
At the event, the deputy director of the museum, Svetlana Glazunova, noted the importance of the presented exhibition project, emphasized the peculiarity of the concept of the exhibition as a response to the artistic views of the great writer.
The exposition is a reflection of the historical picture of the life of Russian society in the era of Leo Tolstoy. The presented works are included in the golden collection of the funds of the Simferopol Art Museum.
The presentation was complemented by a performance by a student of the Simferopol Musical College named after P.I. Tchaikovsky Margarita Zaitseva.
The guests were given a guided tour.
The exhibition will run until October 22.
