The sixth youth media forum “MediaLab92” took place in Sevastopol

The 6th regional youth media forum “MedialLab92” was held at the “Boiling Point of SevSU” in Sevastopol.

The forum participants were 72 representatives of media centers of schools and colleges of the city — winners of the competitive selection, as well as teacher-curators of media centers, advisers to education directors.

I am pleasantly surprised by the high level of creativity and activity of the participants at the MediaLab92 forum this year. From AI quizzes to debates, the guys are showing their talents in all media areas. It is clear that the forum really works, because every year more and more schoolchildren and students of Sevastopol are interested in journalism, video filming and other media formats. The guys showed themselves at the creative competition stations of the forum.

Thus, at the Quiz.Lab station, participants guessed the geniuses of the past and present using artificial intelligence.

At the Text.Lab station, they wrote posts on social networks.

At the Orator.Lab station, the guys tried their hand at public speaking and performed comedy skits.

At the TV.Lab station, activists presented themselves as journalists and, with the help of an understudy, demonstrated their abilities on air.

At the “Photo.Lab” and “Video.Lab” stations, participants tried to set a frame and shoot a video using a ready-made script.

And at the Tesis.Lab station, the guys learned to defend their theses in debates.

This year, the organizers of the forum focused on practice, so the guys immediately went through a quest, where at each station experts assessed their skills in the field of media. I, as an expert at the “Text.Lab” station, reminded the participants of the basics of writing news texts, and then gave the task to publish a post on social networks about the regional forum “MediaLab92”. When checking texts, I paid attention to the presence of a creative approach in design and the absence of spelling and grammatical errors,” shared one of the forum experts, head of the mass communications department of the information policy department of Sevastopol, Anastasia Gaft.

Based on the results of the forum, 3 winning teams were selected. They were awarded diplomas and valuable prizes — a tripod for a mobile phone, a light for a video camera, and a lapel microphone.

Let us remind you that the regional youth media forum “MediaLab92” has been taking place in our city since 2019. Thanks to the youth forum, the number of activists interested in the field of media communications is growing every year. One of the successes of the forum is the creation and operation of media centers in every educational institution in Sevastopol, which have become a point of attraction for many children interested in photography and videography, editing and journalism.
