For the purpose of prompt response, a group of Sevavtodor employees is at the scene of the incident. Due to the fact that traffic is limited in the area of the collapse, we ask drivers to be careful, check traffic routes and follow traffic rules and temporary signs.— the Department of Transport reported on the evening of Tuesday, January 23.
It was announced that for emergency work at 21.00 traffic would be blocked and the contact network would be turned off. Trolleybus service between the city center and the Ship Side will be suspended.
The slope with a retaining wall on Heroev Street of Sevastopol collapsed on January 5 and 19: stones then fell onto the roadway. On January 20, the collapse was more widespread: the fallen soil not only covered half of the roadway, but also damaged the trolleybus contact network. To eliminate the consequences of the incident, it was necessary to block traffic for half a day on almost the only street connecting the Korabelnaya side with the center of Sevastopol.
