The sown area of winter and spring crops in Crimea is more than 800 thousand hectares

CrimeaPRESS reports:

For the 2024 harvest, the sown area of winter and spring crops in Crimea will be more than 800 thousand hectares. This information was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea.

According to operational data from district administrations, more than 500 thousand hectares of fields are sown with winter crops. Now Crimean farmers are working on feeding winter crops and preparing for sowing spring crops. Crops on an area of more than 38 thousand hectares have already been fed.

I drew the attention of representatives of district administrations to the fact that these works must be carried out as quickly as possible, and also coordinate the work on the purchase of mineral fertilizers from the farms of the Republic. As of the reporting date, agricultural producers purchased about 6.8 thousand tons of active substance nitrogen mineral fertilizers, and work in this direction continues,” commented the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Alime Zaredinova.

She also noted that the work on preparing seed funds, filling them, and part-time work is under the constant attention of the ministry. According to operational information, the total need for seeds of spring crops is almost 16 thousand tons.

Let me remind you that checking seeds for quality is one of the prerequisites for providing state support. As for the state of the agricultural machinery fleet on farmers’ farms, they are fully provided with equipment to ensure the full range of agricultural work in the region. They also focused special attention on the work to bring unclaimed land shares into circulation. This is very important for further increasing the production capacity of agricultural products, as well as increasing the growth rate of its gross harvestadded Alime Zaredinova.
