The sports festival “Sports Without Borders” took place in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On the first day of winter, a sports festival “Sports Without Borders” was held in Sevastopol, dedicated to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. For the first time, such competitions and fun sports games were held in the city last year for families raising children with disabilities.
At the beginning of December, International Day of Persons with Disabilities is celebrated. Events dedicated to this holiday are held throughout the country, giving all people with disabilities the opportunity to spend leisure time together and feel the spirit of unity. Today we decided to hold a sports festival and give children good emotions— the press service of the university quotes the head of the department for the development of physical culture and mass sports, adaptive sports of the Sevastopol Sports Department Larisa Evdokimova.
The participants were divided into three teams, each with its own captain-animator. All stages of the competition took place in a tense struggle, under the leadership of the presenter. Children and youth with disabilities took part in outdoor games and relay races, which included dribbling a soccer ball in a straight line with obstacles, throwing a basketball into a hoop, and collective painting. A soap bubble show was also prepared for the children. All competition participants received prizes.
The event was held in a new sports and recreation complex on Shevchenko Street.
