The State Duma adopted a law establishing the Day of Reunification of New Regions with Russia

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On September 30, Russia will celebrate the Day of Reunification of Russia and the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. Such a decision, such a law, was adopted today by the State Duma in the first reading (and in general). The document was submitted to deputies for consideration by Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 12. The changes are prescribed in the law “On the days of military glory and memorable dates of Russia.”

As noted in the explanatory note, the adoption into the Russian Federation of the Donetsk, Lugansk people’s republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions as subjects of the Russian Federation «based on the historical community of peoples living in the territories of these republics and regions, is the result of the expression of the will of millions of people, the exercise of their inalienable right to freely and without outside interference determine their political status, to carry out their economic, social and cultural development«.

The law introduced by the President was adopted by the State Duma as a priority. All factions unanimously supported this decision,” said Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin. — Residents of these regions have been courageously defending their right to speak their native language, their history, faith, and culture for many years. They chose to be together with Russia. It is right that the day when they returned home remains forever in people’s memory.
