The State Duma denounced the agreement with Ukraine on the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait

Deputies of the State Duma at the plenary session adopted law on the denunciation of the Treaty between the Russian Federation and Ukraine on cooperation in the use of the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait.
This agreement was signed by Russia and Ukraine in 2003 in Kerch. And since then… By the way, back in February, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine denounced all agreements on cooperation with Russia in the Sea of Azov. However, now the Sea of Azov is the inland sea of the Russian Federation.
As a result of the acceptance of the DPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions into Russia, the shores of the Sea of u200bu200bAzov and the Kerch Strait now belong only to the Russian Federation. Ukraine has lost the status of a coastal state in relation to these water areas— stated in the explanatory note.
