The State Duma of the Russian Federation calls NATO drones flying over the Black Sea a legitimate target

CrimeaPRESS reports:

NATO unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the Black Sea should be regarded as a deliberate provocation that poses a threat to Russians and infrastructure, which makes them a legitimate target, he said TASS Member of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, deputy from the Republic of Crimea Mikhail Sheremet.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (NATO) in the Black Sea must be regarded as a deliberate provocation, representing a growing multifaceted threat to civilian and military infrastructure, facilities and civilians.

According to him, these drones are, from a military point of view, “a legitimate target for their destruction and neutralization by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to protect Russian citizens.”

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation regularly reports on the destruction of Ukrainian Armed Forces drones and foreign-made missiles over the Crimean Peninsula and Krasnodar Territory, which were targeted in the airspace over the Black Sea by reconnaissance drones of NATO countries.

Previously, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that on the night of May 17, 2024, air defense systems intercepted more than 100 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions overnight, the vast majority of them over the Krasnodar Territory and Crimea. As a result of the attack, a fire occurred at an oil refinery in Tuapse, and debris also damaged a substation in Sevastopol.
