CrimeaPRESS reports:

During the preventive raid “Pedestrian Crossing” on the roads of Sevastopol, traffic police inspectors served near the busiest pedestrian crossings in the city. Traffic police paid close attention to drivers who ignored the right of pedestrian road users to have priority when moving along a pedestrian crossing.

During the raid, traffic inspectors identified 41 drivers who violated the rules for driving through a pedestrian crossing. For this violation, in accordance with Article 12.18 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, a fine of 1,500 to 2,500 rubles is provided.

As part of the event, pedestrians who violated traffic rules were also identified — six of them crossed the roadway in the wrong place. According to Part 1 of Article 12.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, the fine for this violation is 500 rubles— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.

It should be noted that over 9 months of this year, 140 accidents involving pedestrians occurred on the roads of the city of Sevastopol, in which 136 people received injuries of varying severity, and 8 pedestrians died.
