The State Traffic Inspectorate of Sevastopol has been guarding road safety for 88 years
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Every year, the growth in the number of vehicles increases the intensity of road traffic, and with it the risk of road accidents. In modern realities, ensuring road safety requires a high level of technical equipment and professionalism from those who ensure this safety, the employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate.
This year marks the 88th anniversary of the formation of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Over its long history, the service has gone through a difficult but glorious path of formation and reorganization. Much has changed over the decades in the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate: the uniform of employees, special equipment, weapons, service cars, even some functions, but the goal has always remained unchanged — to make roads safe for all road users!
Today, the main mission of the service is to preserve the lives, health and property of road users; protect their legal rights and interests, and prevent road accidents. This is only a small part of the tasks that employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of Sevastopol perform in their daily work.
Currently, the structure of the Sevastopol State Traffic Inspectorate includes: road patrol service, examination department, technical supervision and registration of motor vehicles, technical supervision group, road supervision group, road safety propaganda department, administrative practice and administrative punishment enforcement units, search and inquiry department, automated administrative offence recording center and others.
In just the first 5 months of this year, based on the materials of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate employees, more than 15 thousand administrative cases were opened for violations of the Traffic Regulations, and during raids, almost 700 drivers were found in a state of intoxication, 83 of whom were driving a vehicle again.
The Center for Automated Recording of Administrative Offenses of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate has issued more than 436 thousand decisions on administrative offenses, the “lion’s share” of which are for speeding.
Sevastopol traffic police officers make a significant contribution to the fight against crime. Over five months, traffic police officers have solved more than 150 crimes, 30 of which are related to document forgery and 9 to drug trafficking.
It is no exaggeration to say that the employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of Sevastopol are ready to come to the aid of anyone who needs it at any time of the day or night. Any request from the person who has contacted them is important to them. To tell them how best to get to an unknown address, to help change a flat tire on the road, to urgently accompany them to the hospital, to assist rescuers in case of a fire or doctors in an emergency situation — this is all about them, about the employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of Sevastopol!
