The State Traffic Inspectorate of Sevastopol summed up the results of Operation Night City

The preventive operation “Night City” is usually carried out on the night from Friday to Saturday and is aimed at stabilizing the situation related to road accidents, ensuring public order on the streets of Sevastopol and in other crowded places, suppressing and solving crimes.

For the most effective work on the prevention and suppression of violations related to the driving of vehicles by drivers who are intoxicated, as well as based on an analysis of accident rates and places where drunk drivers may appear, 14 posts were identified, 40 employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate units were involved. In addition, in the period from 22:00 to 01:00 in the area of ​​6 km of the Sevastopol — Inkerman highway, a comprehensive check was organized to identify drivers of vehicles driving while intoxicated— specified in the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.

During Operation Night City, traffic inspectors compiled 16 administrative materials for various offenses, including three drivers who were detained for repeated driving while intoxicated, for which criminal liability is provided under Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Another driver refused to undergo a medical examination, for which he faces a fine of 30 thousand rubles and deprivation of the right to drive for a period of one and a half to two years.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds:

If you refuse a medical examination, as well as when driving a vehicle while intoxicated, the driver faces an administrative fine in the amount of 30 thousand rubles with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of one and a half to two years.

In case of repeated driving while intoxicated, the driver faces criminal liability under Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which is punishable by a fine in the amount of 200 to 300 thousand rubles or imprisonment for up to two years.
