The State Traffic Inspectorate of the Republic of Crimea summed up the results of the operation “Pedestrian, pedestrian crossing”
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In order to reduce the number of road traffic accidents involving pedestrians and the severity of the consequences of such accidents, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Republic of Crimea conducted an operational and preventive event “Pedestrian, pedestrian crossing!” from January 22 to 31. As the traffic police emphasized, in just a decade, more than 3,700 traffic violations were identified in terms of using pedestrian crossings, of which more than 700 were drivers and more than 2,900 pedestrians.
In accordance with the current legislation, pedestrian violators are brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Art. 12.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Violation of Traffic Rules by a pedestrian or other person participating in the process of traffic). Each of them will have to pay a fine of five hundred rubles.
The drivers were brought to administrative liability under Art. 12.18 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Not providing priority in traffic to pedestrians or other road users). The sanction of the article provides for an administrative fine in the amount of one thousand five hundred to two thousand five hundred rubles— reported the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Republic of Crimea.
It is emphasized that during the event, traffic police officers conducted more than 5,000 preventive conversations with road users and posted more than 15,000 thematic printed materials (memos, leaflets) on compliance with traffic rules, including in public transport.
