The State Traffic Inspectorate summed up the results of the operation “Pedestrian, pedestrian crossing!” in Simferopol region

CrimeaPRESS reports:

In order to reduce the number of accidents involving pedestrians and the severity of the consequences of such incidents, from January 2 to 7 in the Simferopol region, the traffic police conducted an operational and preventive event “Pedestrian, pedestrian crossing!”

During the event, State Traffic Inspectorate employees identified 42 traffic violations in terms of using pedestrian crossings, of which 7 were drivers and 35 pedestrians.

In accordance with the current legislation, pedestrian violators are brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Art. 12.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Violation of Traffic Rules by a pedestrian or other person participating in the process of traffic). Each of them will have to pay a fine of 500 rubles.

The drivers were brought to administrative liability under Art. 12.18 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Not providing priority in traffic to pedestrians or other road users). The sanction of the article provides for an administrative fine in the amount of one thousand five hundred to two thousand five hundred rubles— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

It is emphasized that during the event, traffic police inspectors held preventive conversations with road users and handed out leaflets about compliance with traffic rules.
