The storekeeper in Simferopol turned out to be “very dishonest”
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Simferopol, a local resident will be sent to a colony for embezzling property worth more than a million rubles. The man was found guilty under Part 4 of Art. 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (appropriation of entrusted property).
The court found that in the period from October 2022 to May 2023, the convict, holding the position of storekeeper in one of the large household appliances stores, appropriated the property entrusted to him, namely 32 expensive mobile phones and a laptop, which he later sold. The damage from the man’s illegal actions amounted to more than 1.1 million rubles— said the Crimean prosecutor’s office.
The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the convict to 2 years and 6 months in prison. The man will serve his sentence in a general regime correctional colony. The court also satisfied the victim’s claim for compensation for the damage caused. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
