The Supervisory Board of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation met in Moscow

The first meeting of the renewed composition of the Supervisory Board of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation was held in Moscow. Council members discussed personnel and financial issues of the fund’s activities, as well as new areas of work.
Chairman of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation Anna Tsivileva spoke about the results of the organization’s work over the 9.5 months that have passed since its creation. The fund’s branches received more than 850 thousand requests. Of these, more than 730 thousand issues were resolved, the rest are in progress. The most frequent questions were requests for the appointment of social support measures, monetary payments related to participation in the SVO, obtaining a combat veteran’s certificate, legal, medical and psychological assistance.
In Crimea, the fund’s social coordinators work in each of the 25 municipalities. During this period, they accepted more than 30,000 requests, support veterans, help them adapt and develop in business. In February, we provided assistance to children from the Nizhnegorsky district who wanted to receive a subsidy for the construction of a fish farm. And another ward of the foundation, Roman Konovalov, not only recovered from injury, but also found a soul mate and improved his family life. Together with his wife, they produce cosmetics and collect bouquets from homemade soap.
First Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation Sergei Kiriyenko noted that by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation in February of this year, the powers of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation were significantly expanded.
One of the most important areas of the foundation’s activities is the collection and analysis of feedback, monitoring the satisfaction of veterans and their families with the completeness and quality of the social support measures provided to them with a mandatory subsequent report to the President of the Russian Federation— said Sergei Kiriyenko.
Let us remind you that the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation was created on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Its main goal is personal support for military veterans and family members of heroes. Here, defenders are helped with medical and social rehabilitation, including retraining and employment, provided with legal support and adapted housing to the needs of people with disabilities. The foundation also engages veterans in physical education and sports, the Paralympic movement, organizes cultural events, and holds meetings on the patriotic education of youth with the participation of defenders of the Fatherland.
