The Supreme Court of Crimea considered the case of an accident two years ago in Kerch

The Supreme Court of Crimea reviewed on appeal a criminal case regarding an accident two years ago in Kerch. About this accident, in which an ambulance overturned and 4 people were injured, — HERE. It was not said then that two people later died from their wounds — a health worker and a patient. It was also not said that the second participant in the accident “jumped” through the prohibiting traffic light signal.
The court found that on August 20, 2021, a man, driving an ambulance with a blue flashing light and a special sound signal, was moving along Gorky Street in Kerch.
The defendant, driving through a controlled intersection at a prohibitory red traffic light, at a speed exceeding the limit allowed in populated areas, collided with another car, resulting in its overturning. Two passengers inside the car died from their injuries.,” the prosecutor’s office recalled the circumstances of the case.
The Kerch City Court sentenced the man who caused the accident to 3 years of imprisonment, replaced by 3 years of forced labor. The prosecutor’s office did not agree with the verdict and appealed it.
Having considered the submission, the Supreme Court of Crimea sentenced the man to 4 years in prison in a penal colony. He was disqualified from driving for 2 years.
