The Theater for Young Spectators offers a new format for studying the history of Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On October 11, the Sevastopol Youth Theater presented the audience with a new cultural and educational project called “For posterity as an example.” As part of it, until the end of 2023, a series of performances and discussions will take place that will help not only schoolchildren, but also adult viewers to expand and deepen their knowledge of history and culture.
The Ombudsman for Children’s Rights in the city of Sevastopol, Marina Peschanskaya, greeted those gathered:
I am happy this evening to see not only children, but also adults in the hall. Since the world of childhood is impossible without those who have already gone through this. I am pleased that theater is a friend to all of you. And it’s great that a series of performances are held here, which allows you to learn about heroes, exploits and examples. There is no need to look for examples in Western trends and patterns. Watch and read our story.
The discussion of the performance turned out to be emotional, frank and heartfelt. The audience expressed their gratitude and admiration for the artists for their professionalism. A teacher at the Cossack Bay educational center left a review of what she saw in the Theater Book: “It’s impossible to watch without tears. Every word and quote touched me to the core. We are proud that the project “As an Example for Posterity” and the play “The Taste of Copper Wire” appeared in Sevastopol. In turn, we promise to BE PEOPLE OF SEVASTOPOL!” At the discussion, moderated by Honored Artist of the Republic of Crimea Aksinya Normanskaya, the youth generation emphasized that they consider themselves real Sevastopol residents and are proud of the history and heroes of their city. It was these words that became a real confirmation of the importance of the project “For Posterity as an Example” and its role in the formation of national identity and patriotism in society.
Just six years ago, I couldn’t even think that I would be a Sevastopol resident. Thank you very much for today’s performance. Like everyone else, she cried and smiled, thought and remembered the history of Sevastopol. And next time I’ll come and watch the play with my children.” I would like to remind you that every Wednesday, until the end of December, SevTUZ will host a “live” dialogue with spectators of all ages immediately after watching the performance. Anyone can become a participant in the meeting; all they need to do is purchase a ticket to the performance. This is an excellent opportunity to discuss the performance, share impressions and ask questions to the actors, expanding your horizons and better understanding the themes present. “As an Example for Posterity” is a project that combines history, art and education, offering viewers and participants a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the history of their homeland and reflect on it together with professionals. We invite everyone to join this fascinating journey through the history of Sevastopol.
