The theft of a motorcycle in one of the Crimean villages was uncovered without delay.

Sovetsky district police were quick to uncover the theft of a motorcycle and return it to its rightful owner. As reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea, as a result of operational search activities, a suspect (a resident of one of the local villages) was identified and detained. The detainee admitted to stealing a motorcycle worth 200 thousand rubles from a 20-year-old local resident.
Investigators found out that in the early morning, a 23-year-old local resident, walking past a convenience store, saw an abandoned motorcycle with the keys in the ignition. Having the intent to steal a vehicle, the attacker, making sure that no one was watching his actions, started the engine and rode the motorcycle to his friend with whom he left itthe police said.
The investigative department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sovetsky district opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft”). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to 5 years. The suspect was given a preventive measure in the form of house arrest. The two-wheeler was returned to its rightful owner.
