In the Leninsky district of Crimea, the police received a message from a resident of one of the local villages about the theft of a car. The man told police that his stepson could have taken the vehicle without permission.
During operational search activities, just a few hours later in a neighboring village, traffic police inspectors detained a 35-year-old relative of the applicant in a stolen car. During a conversation with the driver, police officers identified signs of intoxication, which was confirmed by a breathalyzer test. The result showed that the norm of ethyl alcohol in exhaled air was more than six times whiter– the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea gave details.
The man was suspended from driving, and the vehicle was seized and returned to its rightful owner.
The investigation department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Leninsky district has initiated criminal cases against the suspect on the grounds of crimes under Part 1 of Article 166 “Wrongful possession of a car or other vehicle without the purpose of theft (theft)” and Part 1 of Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “ Driving a vehicle while intoxicated by a person who has been subjected to administrative punishment or has a criminal record.” The perpetrator faces a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to 5 years. The citizen was detained in accordance with Article 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation.
