The traffic police of Crimea sums up the results of the preventive raid “Drunk driver”: 84 motorists will become pedestrians
Last weekend, the Crimean traffic police conducted an operational and preventive event under the code name “Drunk driver.” Raids on the roads of the peninsula were carried out in order to reduce the accident rate and prevent accidents involving drivers who were intoxicated.
During the investigation, 84 cases of driving while intoxicated or refusing a medical examination were suppressed. 7 drivers were detained for driving a vehicle with signs of intoxication again, for which criminal liability is provided in accordance with Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation— the traffic police summed up the results of the operation.
The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds that driving a vehicle while intoxicated entails an administrative penalty — a fine in the amount of 30,000 rubles, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of one and a half to two years; if this administrative offense is repeated within a year, criminal liability arises according to Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
