The vaccination campaign against influenza continues in Sevastopol

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The epidemiological situation in Sevastopol is calm. The incidence of ARVI is 20-30% higher than average — this is a common situation in the autumn-winter period, doctors report. In order to have time to develop protective immunity to seasonal infection by winter, doctors recommend getting vaccinated against the flu today.

Currently, there is an incidence of rhinovirus, adenovirus, parainfluenza, and corona-like infections. There is also a slight increase in the incidence of coronavirus infection. No cases of the disease have been registered as part of the flu vaccination, which started in September, – the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the chief freelance epidemiologist of the Sevastopol Health Department Sergei Grygu.

Currently, more than 195 thousand Sevastopol residents have been vaccinated against seasonal flu.

It is planned to vaccinate more than 305 thousand people against flu. First of all, people at risk need to pay attention to vaccination — these are children, people with chronic diseases, especially bronchopulmonary and cardiovascular systems, medical workers, teachers and service workers, as well as people over 60 years of ageemphasizes Sergei Gryga.

The Department of Health also conducts other immunization programs for the population — against the new coronavirus infection, pneumococcal infection of people with chronic diseases and older people, against meningococcal infection, as well as vaccination of adolescents 12 years old against the human papillomavirus. In connection with the increase in the incidence of whooping cough among children, a decision was made to launch a revaccination program for children aged 6-7 years and 14 years against this nosology.

Let us remind you that the main contraindication for influenza vaccination is elevated body temperature and other symptoms of acute respiratory viral infection. You can get vaccinated in all clinics of city hospitals, first aid stations and outpatient clinics, as well as in mobile points located on Nakhimov Square, near the Orange shopping center and inside the Musson shopping center on the second floor.
