CrimeaPRESS reports:
On December 13, on the day of remembrance of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called, in the Prince Vladimir Cathedral-tomb of admirals, the dean of the Sevastopol district, Archpriest Sergius Khalyuta, handed over to the commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Viktor Sokolov, the “Victory” icon of the Mother of God (with a particle of the Seal of the Holy Sepulcher, a particle of the Life-Giving Cross , a piece of the Intercession with myrrh from the myrrh-streaming icon “Victory”), donated to Black Sea sailors from the wives and mothers of military personnel.
From now on, the icon will remain on ships and military units of the Black Sea Fleet for the veneration and prayer of military personnel.
About the Victorious Icon of the Mother of God.
In 2016, the icon was compiled and painted with the blessing of Schema-Archimandrite Eli (Nozdrin) in honor of the entry of the Republic of Crimea and the hero city of Sevastopol into the Russian Federation, and, after its consecration in the altar of the Cathedral of the Holy Blessed Prince Igor of Chernigov in Novo-Peredelkino by Schema-Archimandrite Eli, began her religious procession through the cities and military units of Russia, as well as abroad, visiting 16 monasteries of the Holy Mount Athos, Montenegro, and other Orthodox countries.
For the first time, the miracle of the myrrh-streaming of the “Victory” icon occurred in the cradle of Orthodoxy — Chersonese, during the farewell of Russian sailors to combat duty in the Syrian Arab Republic, and continues to stream myrrh to this day.
Lists of the icon have scattered to many churches and monasteries in Russia, Belarus, and abroad, where even now the Lord and the Most Holy Theotokos give us their mercy, because many lists began to smell fragrant and flow myrrh, strengthening us in faith and prayer for the President of Russia and the army of Russia, as well as for Holy Rus’.
