Restrictive measures (quarantine) were introduced in the Balaklava municipal district due to the detection of the case of the disease of the wild fox.
The state department received an appeal from a vacationer woman. She discovered near the tract the “fig” of the sick fox, who, from her words, was injured when falling from the cliff. However, taking into account the clinical picture in an animal that does not exclude the disease with rabies, in accordance with the requirements of veterinary rules, the foxes were placed on isolated content under the supervision of the autocated. Subsequently, laboratory studies confirmed the diagnosis of rabies in the animal. The woman who contacted with the fox is informed about the immediate appeal to the medical institution for anti -rabid prevention. Currently, the State Veterinary Service conducts all the necessary measures, including the preventive vaccination of pets,-the press service of the Government of Sevastopol said.
Follow the precautions when meeting with wild animals: avoid all kinds of contacts with them, especially if they strive to approach, in the case of bites, scratches, immediately contact the trauma point or the nearest medical institution. Vaccininate against the rabies of domestic dogs and cats in a timely manner.
