The youth media forum “MediaLab92” took place in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The 5th regional youth media forum “MediaLab92” was held at the Ecotech+ school. Participants in the rally included 100 representatives of school and student media centers in Sevastopol, as well as 55 teacher-curators of media centers and advisors to educational directors.
The basis of the event was a one-day intensive course for students aged 13-17 from state budgetary educational institutions of the city. The purpose of the forum is to increase the active participation of students in creative activities, develop their abilities in the field of school and student media, as well as create a unified professional community of representatives of school and student media.
Today we tried to make for the participants a real media laboratory to create the ideal image of a school and student media center. This year we have focused specifically on practice so that the guys have direct experience that they can bring to their media centers. The participants were guys who are interested in the media space and journalism; everyone was able to find a niche on the forum in which they are interested in developing. The happy faces of teenagers at the end of the event and the applause of the teacher-curators indicate that we did everything right! — shared Margarita Gladyshevskaya, a specialist at the Russian Children and Youth Center, teacher-organizer of the Palace of Children and Youth Creativity.
As part of the forum, together with teams from other schools and secondary vocational schools, the children attended interactive master classes on the following topics:
- “Structure and moderation of the media center”, speaker Sofia Zhuliy, advisor to the director of education of bilingual gymnasium No. 2;
- “Video editing, or how to increase engagement with simple techniques”, speaker Ilya Smirnov, creative producer of the production center “Insight People” of the Gazprom-Media holding, speaker of the Russian Society “Knowledge”;
- “SMM, or working with content,” speaker Valeria Nechpal, SMM marketer, owner of an SMM agency;
- “How and with what to fill the media center”, speaker Maria Samsykina, advisor to the director of education of secondary school No. 37;
- “Vertical content and the peculiarity of clips in VK”, speaker Alexandra Lanina, specialist in working with youth of the all-Russian public-state movement of children and youth “Movement of the First”.
The MediaLab92 forum was the first forum I visited, and everyone should experience the emotions that I experienced! New acquaintances, knowledge, experience — the list is endless! I am incredibly glad that I visited the forum, and I will undoubtedly participate in other projects of the “Navigators of Childhood” and the “First Movement”, — notes Margarita Rasskazova, a student at secondary school No. 35.
A special feature of this year’s forum was the competitive selection of participants. As part of the competition task, the guys filmed a video card on the topic “I am in the world of media”, where they talked about what contribution they make to the development of their school and student media centers, as well as their future development plans in the field of media. The authors of the works that scored the highest points became winners of the regional video business card competition and were solemnly awarded diplomas and souvenirs from the Russian Society “Knowledge” and the “First Movement”.
