The zoo corner of the Simferopol Children's Park told how animals cope with the summer heat
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Many animals and birds are well adapted to high temperatures and cope with the heat quite easily. Camels, deer, leopards, and donkeys have long since changed their woolen attire from warm winter to light summer. And, for example, the sheep, which do not shed their wool on their own, were sheared by the zoo corner staff. This was reported by Galina Fomina, a public relations specialist at the MBUK «Parks of the Capital».
African lions are in no hurry to hide from the sun. They happily doze in the open air. At the same time, the enclosures of all the inhabitants are designed so that they have a shaded, cool place where you can take refuge in the heat.
There are animals that are required to have swimming pools in their enclosures. For example, our Amur tiger Jedi loves to take baths, as do cranes, storks, herons, vultures and griffons. For wolves, the zoo workers arrange an invigorating shower, which, in addition to cooling, is an element of the game— the press service of the Simferopol administration quotes Galina Fomina.
Also in the summer period, special attention is paid to the drinking regime of animals and birds: their water is renewed at least twice a day.
