A 32-year-old local resident contacted the Dzhankoy police. The applicant reported that a GAZelle car was stolen from the territory of the hardware store.
As a result of operational search activities, police officers identified a 31-year-old man who confessed to the crime. The suspect explained that he started the car from a button inside the cabin, drove out of the car and lost control, as a result of which he hit an obstacle. After which, fearful of punishment, he left the car and fled the place— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
On the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (wrongful seizure of a car or other vehicle without the purpose of theft), a criminal case has been initiated. The sanction of the article provides for punishment from a large fine to five years in prison.
It is clear that the victim of theft should take the safety and security of his vehicle a little more seriously. But you can tell the thief one thing — before you get behind the wheel, you need to learn not only how to start the car and move away, but also how to drive.
