The Feodosia City Court of the Republic of Crimea sentenced a 32-year-old local resident for theft, that is, the secret theft of someone else’s property, committed with illegal entry into the premises.
The court established that in May 2023, the defendant, realizing his suddenly arisen criminal intent, being near the Moydodyr store, taking advantage of the dark time of the day, the absence of unauthorized persons and store employees near the specified store, damaging the metal protective roller shutter, and knocking out the lower part of the glass of the front door, illegally entered the store, where from the cash drawer, secretly stole money in the amount of 9,400 rubles, after which he fled the scene of the crime, disposing of the stolen money at his own discretion, causing damage to the specified amount by his deliberate actions— noted in the press service of the court.
At the hearing, the defendant fully admitted his guilt in the deed.
When passing the verdict, the court took into account the identity of the defendant, who is characterized negatively at the place of residence, is not registered with a psychiatrist and narcologist, and has previously been convicted of a similar crime. As mitigating circumstances, the court recognized the surrender and active contribution to the disclosure and investigation of the crime. The court recognized the recidivism of crimes as an aggravating circumstance for the defendant.
Taking into account the circumstances of the case, the court sentenced the defendant in accordance with Article 70 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation in the form of 1 (one) year 8 (eight) months and 10 (ten) days of imprisonment to be served in a correctional colony of general regime.
