There are 500 thousand families with children living in Crimea, more than 1 million people are married

According to the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea — Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Crimea Elena Romanovskaya, 500 thousand families with children live in the Republic of Crimea, more than 1 million people are in marital relationships.

Over the past 7-8 years, there has been a steady trend towards an increase in the number of large families. If in 2016 their number was 15 thousand, today there are 32 thousand large families living in the republic, raising 108 thousand children.— the Deputy Prime Minister said.

The budget of the Republic of Crimea provides funds in the amount of 6 billion rubles for social support of families with children. Every year, more than 65 thousand families with 146 thousand children use various types of social support, of which 24.8 thousand are large families.

2,664 families received a one-time payment to improve their housing conditions. In the first half of this year, 1,932 loans worth 9.4 billion rubles were issued under family mortgages.

More than 5 thousand large families receive state social assistance.

Today we are facing a serious demographic challenge. This is due to the decline in the birth rate, which occurred several decades ago. In order to improve the demographic situation in the Republic of Crimea, the Regional Program for Increasing the Birth Rate in the Republic of Crimea is being implemented, within the framework of which measures are being taken to preserve the reproductive health of the population, reduce the number of abortions, form family values, support families with children, including large families, in the form of payments and compensation, young student families, working parents. About 2.7 billion rubles per year are allocated to ensure the implementation of the Regional Program— notes Elena Romanovskaya.

The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized that improving the demographic situation, supporting the birth rate and large families is a priority national task that the national project «Family» is to solve. The national project must be prepared on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin by September 1 of this year.
