There are more many families in Sevastopol

Last year, the number of large families in Sevastopol increased by 979, and now 5,737 large families live in the city. 18 473 children are brought up in them. This was reported in the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.

Social support provided to families with children gives good results. Governor Mikhail Podvozhaev pays great attention to issues of supporting motherhood and childhood. We are constantly improving the programs, payments are increasing, and large families in Sevastopol are becoming more and more every year. Another good signal — our birth rate is growing. If we compare five months of this year compared to the past: January-May 2024-1,466 children, January-May 2025-1,536 children, plus 70 children,-quoted the press service of the Government of Sevastopol as the director of the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the population Elena Sulyagin.

According to the results of 2024, the total birth rate in Sevastopol was higher than a year earlier.

Last year, 10,628 families received social benefits to families with children. These are payments at the birth of children (regional maternity capital, at the birth of a third and subsequent children), payments aimed at supporting families during the school year (large families in school and sports uniforms, for the new academic year, children from large and low -income families, a scholarship to gifted children from large families).

Support for families with children is one of the priorities of the state. The implementation of measures continues as part of the new national project «Family».

Last year, at the initiative of Governor Mikhail Podvozhaev, a commemorative medal “Sevastopol Family” was approved. To date, it has already been awarded 353 couples.
