There are more than 200 specially protected natural areas in Crimea

Today is the Day of Nature Reserves and National Parks of Russia. This date coincides with the creation of the first state reserve in our country — Barguzinsky. In total, there are thousands of specially protected natural areas in the Russian Federation, of which 204 are located in Crimea. As the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov noted, 9 of them have federal status, 194 have regional status, and one has local status. About 70 tourist routes pass through the territories of protected areas of regional importance.
I thank everyone who contributes to the protection and preservation of the unique Crimean nature. This is our common wealth,” the Head of the Republic of Crimea congratulated the Crimean ecologists.
It should be noted that 5 state nature reserves have also been created in Crimea: “Yalta Mountain-Forest”, “Opuksky”, “Kazantipsky”, “Swan Islands”, “Karadagsky”, as well as the Crimean National Park.
