The Sevastopol police note: currently, facts of confiscation of foreign passports and refusal of passage of citizens of the Russian Federation across the State Border of the Russian Federation arise as a result of the recognition of foreign passports as invalid, due to errors made in the spelling of the last name, first name, patronymic, date of birth or gender, incorrect registration machine readable string.

These difficulties arise due to the inattention of both our employees who made mistakes and citizens who received passports without checking them. In addition, due to technical failures in the operation of information systems, errors were made in the formation of a machine-readable string. Due to the onset of the summer tourist season and the increase in the number of citizens purchasing vouchers for holidays abroad, we ask you to independently check your foreign passports before leaving the territory of the Russian Federation and, if errors are found, contact the migration departments to replace them in the prescribed manner procedure without charging a state fee.
