There is an exhibition “Hello, dear Sevastopol” on Primorsky Boulevard
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On the eve of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Sevastopol from the Nazi invaders and the 79th anniversary of the Victory, a photo exhibition “Hello, dear Sevastopol” was opened on the observation deck near the Palace of Children and Youth Creativity.
The Museum-Reserve of the Heroic Defense and Liberation of Sevastopol traditionally becomes a participant in city exhibition projects on significant memorable dates. The museum introduces residents and guests of the Hero City to the works of the masters of Soviet documentary photography: Evgeny Khaldei, Alexander Sokolenko, Nikolai (Nehemia) Asnin, Francis Semyannikov, Vladislav Mikosha, Alexander Bazhenov. This is only a small part of more than six thousand negatives and photographs taken during the Great Patriotic War and stored in the museum’s collection. Front-line correspondents photographed their comrades on the front line — in trenches, tanks, airplane cockpits, in burning buildings, on warships, boats, submarines… The exhibition presents several dozen photographs taken in Sevastopol during the days of liberation and immediately after the end of the fighting. They show the Sevastopol Victory and the faces of its creators! – the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Anna Selivanova, Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the Museum-Reserve of the Heroic Defense and Liberation of Sevastopol.
The exhibition also presents photographs from the archives of the city of Sevastopol and the family collections of Anna Khaldei, the daughter of the famous photojournalist Evgeniy Khaldei, and Vadim Dokin, the grandson of a participant in the defense of Sevastopol in 1941-1942 and photojournalist Vadim Dokin.
Anyone can visit the exhibition; it will be open until May 19.
