There is now a chess school of Sergey Koryakin in Crimea

The Head of the Republic of Crimea took part in the opening of the Sergey Karyakin Chess Club at the Headquarters of Public Support of the Republic of Crimea. According to Sergey Aksyonov, chess is real «food for thought», an opportunity to develop one’s intellectual skills, strategic and critical thinking, and the opening of the new club will allow young Crimeans to usefully spend time, find friends and like-minded people.

I thank Sergey Aleksandrovich Karyakin for his contribution to the development of this sport in Crimea, for his special attention to the younger generation. It is very important that such a talented person, who has achieved great heights, supports young people, inspires them with his example and passes on his skills to his students.– said the Head of Crimea.

Sergey Karyakin expressed gratitude to Sergey Aksyonov personally and to the authorities of the republic for their assistance. As the grandmaster noted, the club is a branch of the Sports School for Chess and Checkers. Both adults and children can study here. In addition, the widespread popularization of chess sports in the republic continues: master classes are organized, tournaments are held. According to Sergey Karyakin, this is an excellent incentive for children.

It is reported that all necessary conditions for training have been created in the new chess club. Starting from September 1 of this year, the work of trainers of the Simferopol sports school in chess and checkers will be organized, and the grandmaster himself plans to periodically give master classes here.
