They carry everything in a taxi… and drugs too. Case in Evpatoria
CrimeaPRESS reports:
It all started as a routine traffic police check on the road. State traffic inspectors stopped a Hyundai Solaris taxi service car in Yevpatoria. And it began…
When checking the driver’s documents, the passenger, a 35-year-old local resident, behaved suspiciously and was clearly nervous. Police officers checked the woman’s bag, in which they found and seized a bag with polymer parcels. Employees of the investigative and operational group and the drug control department of the Russian Department of Internal Affairs for the city of Yevpatoria arrived at the scene, in addition to polymer packages, they seized 2 mobile phones and a passenger’s notebook— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
As a result of further inspection, employees of the drug control department identified caches of narcotic substances and seized 18 “stashes”. According to the expert’s conclusions, the synthetic drugs seized from the passenger have a total weight of 36.91 grams, which is a large size.
As the woman explained, she purchased the drug via the Internet and planned to sell it through “bookmarks” in order to make a profit.
The investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Evpatoria opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Art. 30 and part 4 art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted possession for the purpose of selling narcotic substances on a large scale). The maximum sanction of the article provides for up to 20 years in prison. The detainee was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified.
What about taxis? The driver also got caught… Reportedly, during a check of the taxi driver’s documents, it was established that he was carrying out activities of transporting passengers without the appropriate permit for this type of activity. An administrative protocol has been drawn up against the violator under Part 1 of Art. 14.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation for carrying out business activities without appropriate permission.
