They intend to build two reservoirs in Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
During the event, the parties discussed the socio-economic development of Crimea, including issues of the agro-industrial complex, the tourism industry and the conservation of the republic’s forest resources, etc.
As Dmitry Patrushev noted, the socio-economic development of the republic is showing growth:
The volume of investment is steadily increasing, new roads, communications, and housing are being built. During this period, household incomes more than doubled. And it is important that their growth continues. In addition, the republic is an important tourist center of our country. Over 10 years, the flow of vacationers has increased by almost 40%. The agro-industrial complex, of course, plays an important role in the economy of the region. The Russian government systematically supports the development of the industry. Almost 2.5 billion rubles were allocated in 2024 alone. In general, over the decade, the harvest of grains, fruits and berries in the republic has almost doubled. Crimea is also one of the most important wine regions in Russia. In 2023, the peninsula produced 115 thousand tons of grapes, this is the third harvest in the country.
For his part, Sergei Aksyonov appealed to the Russian Deputy Prime Minister with a request to support the construction of two reservoirs in Crimea.
In Crimea, there is a need for the construction of two new facilities to provide water to the population of Alushta and Yalta. Of course, at present this is not a priority task, since the existing reserves will definitely last us for two full years, even without taking into account precipitation. There are no risks here. However, we want to prevent possible shortages in case of drought, as we had several years agosays the Head of the Republic.
Sergei Aksyonov clarified that to cover the needs of Alushta, it is planned to build a reservoir for 8.5 million cubic meters of water, and for Yalta — a reservoir for 5.5 million cubic meters.
We previously agreed on these projects with colleagues from the federal center. All calculations were made jointly. The estimated cost of both objects is 22 billion rubles— informed the Head of Crimea.
Dmitry Patrushev noted the prospects of building reservoirs and ordered to work out the details of both projects.
