CrimeaPRESS reports:
With the onset of cold weather in Russia, the number of incidents due to improper operation or malfunction of electric heaters, gas and furnace equipment is increasing. Every year employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in all regions of the country carry out a set of preventive measures for fire safety in the autumn-winter period. Sevastopol is no exception. In our region, the supervisory authorities of the emergency department have already begun work as part of the Heating operation.
Thus, large-scale explanatory work is being carried out in the residential sector. Another preventive raid took place in the gardening associations of the Nakhimov district, — reported in the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Sevastopol.
In order to prevent accidents caused by inattention and negligence in the operation of heating appliances, citizens were invited to explanatory conversations. The specialists reminded them of the fire safety rules, assessed how vigilant people are at home, whether there is a risk of fire in their homes. The inspectors also answered questions from the population and distributed information leaflets.
I managed to meet both families who use electric heaters, and those who heat their homes with solid fuel boilers and stove heating systems.
It is forbidden to operate furnaces and other heating appliances without fire-prevention partitions (retreat) from structures made of combustible materials, pre-furnace sheets made of non-combustible material with a size of at least 0.5 by 0, 7 meters. In the presence of burnouts and damage in the grooves, the outer surfaces of the furnace, chimneys, smoke channels and pre-furnace sheets of the furnace, it is also forbidden to use. Furnaces must not be overheated. Furnace furnace stops at least 2 hours before going to bed. Ash and slag raked out of the furnaces must be filled with water and removed to a place specially designated for them. As for electric heaters, it is important to check the serviceability of electrical wiring, sockets, shields and plugs. Avoid overloading the mains if several powerful devices are turned on at once. Do not leave electric heaters on overnight, use them to dry things, or place them near combustible materials. Faulty heaters and stoves are not allowed for operation. You can not leave them unattended, and also entrust supervision of them to children , — lists the basic safety rules, lieutenant colonel of the internal Service Alexander Lazarev, Chief Specialist of the Territorial Department of Supervisory Activities and Preventive Work of the Department of Supervisory Activities and Preventive Work of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia for the City of Sevastopol.
